Anotácia Predmetom príspevku je stručná analýza pôsobenia Úradu Organizácie Spojených národov pre pomoc a prácu v prospech palestínskych utečencov na Blízkom východe, vrátane výziev, ktorým v súčasnosti čelí. Kreácia úradu v roku 1949 mala prispieť k riešeniu palestínskej utečeneckej otázky, ktorá vznikla v dôsledku izraelsko-palestínskeho konfliktu, no samotná činnosť úradu je momentálne subjektom intenzívnej kritiky, a to najmä zo strany Spojených štátov amerických. Annotation The aim of this article is to briefly examine the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, including the present challenges it is facing. The agency was established in 1949 as part of the efforts to solve the Palestinian refugee crisis, which emerged as a result of the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict. However, the agency’s work and actions are currently facing intense criticism mainly from the United States of America.

Anotácia Islamský štát je teroristickou organizáciou, ktorá neoperuje len v oblasti Blízkeho východu, ale má globálny dosah. V čase jej najväčšieho rozmachu v rokoch 2014 a 2015 skupina ovládala a pomerne efektívne vládla až šestim miliónom ľudí, ale jej teritoriálny vplyv bol v posledných rokoch výrazne oslabený. Skupina však vďaka účinnej internetovej propagande stále oslovuje a naberá nových členov a materiály a videá publikované online slúžia ako inšpirácia pre útoky páchané na celom svete. Annotation Islamic State is a brutal terrorist organisation operating not only in the Middle East area, but around the world. During its peak years between 2014 and 2015 the group ruled and rather effectively controlled over six million people, however its teritorries have nearly dimished now due to coalition strikes. Regardless of this fact, its effective online propaganda still helps them recruit and inspire new members. They also use the internet to publish materials and videos which serve as a basis for terror attacks committed around the world.
